Election Day 2018: 0 Days to Go by: Daniel E.

This is it. Today is the voters’ day, and America gets some answers. President Trump focused on boosting Republican candidates for Senate and governor in the Midwest. But many Republicans  have starting to preparing to lose the House. While the Senate is still looking red (Republican). The math favors the Democrats. More seats currently held by Republicans are leaning toward the Democrats than the other way around. Many more Republican seats are tossups. The House needs to pick 23 democrats to gain control of the House. But it’s far from a done deal. Even if Democrats hold on to their existing seats and win all the districts, they are rated as leaning or likely to pick up from the Republicans, they will still have to win at least six of the 29 Republican seats rated as tossups seats that could easily go either way. The Senate leans toward the Republican party. To maintain control of the Senate, they can only lose one seat. The Democrats are trying to defend their seats in order to have some leverage in the Senate. One Democratic seat for the Senate is leaning Republican, and five seats are toss ups. The result came out last night! Go check them!

If you are old enough, are you registered to vote? If you are old enough, did you vote in your local election? Do you feel with Trump's approval for some candidates in the Midwest will help them get elected? Do you believe this will help Trump's campaign in the future?

  1. I think definitely Trump's efforts in the Midwest have helped him keep the Republican Senate majority. However, it was not enough to keep the House of Representatives. This is will make passing legislation in Trump's favor easier for his party.

  2. I am not old enough to vote yet, therefore I did not vote. I think that Mr. Trump had a great influence on the elections. His endorsements hopefully gained him so respect and advantage in those states. I hope that this helps Donald Trump in his 2020 campaign. #Trump2020

  3. President Trump's efforts have helped him I think. He has put forth effort and hopefully it will pay off for him in the end. I believe Trump has done a good job in his presidency. However, no one is perfect and not everyone will agree with everything he has done.

  4. I am not old enough to vote yet. I do believe that President Trump's efforts have helped him though. There has been a lot leading up to this election and the end results surprised everyone I think.

  5. Unfortunately, I am not old enough to vote yet so I am not registered. I do think that some of the Senate candidates were benefited by Trump's endorsement (many were in states that voted for Trump in his presidential race). Keeping the Senate Republican controlled was a major victory for him as now when he wishes to nominate a Supreme Court judge it will be slightly easier for him.

  6. Trump did have a major effect on the elections. While I don’t agree on most things he does, I can agree that he has a loyal fan base that will do probably everything he says.

  7. I am not old enough to vote yet, but plan to do so when I am. I do believe that some senate candidates were helped by Trump’s approval. This will cause passing legislation to most likely go Trump’s way.

  8. I am not old enough to vote, but I plan on voting in every election possible once I turn 18. I think that Trump's approval of some Republican candidates did help them to win their position. I also believe that President Trump has a lot of influence in our elections as he is our Commander in Chief.
