For a long time now, many people across the whole country have been trying to get President Trump impeached. A lot of people are in support of him, but a lot of people are against him. However, Nancy Pelosi (Speaker of the House) does not think it is worth it to impeach him.
One reason she believes this is because the impeachment would do nothing but divide the country even more than it is divided now. Half of the country would still support President Trump, while the other half of the country would still oppose President Trump.
Another reason she believes impeachment is not worth it is because she believes the Democrats running in 2020, which is only next year, have a very strong chance of beating him in the election. Nancy Pelosi does not support impeaching President Trump, but she “does not think he is fit to be president of the United States.”
What are your views on impeachment? Do you agree with Nancy Pelosi’s views on impeachment? Why do so many people want to impeach Trump? Do you believe Trump has a good chance of getting re-elected?
I do not think it is a good idea to impeach the president unless a serious crime has been committed. I agree that it will divide the country even more and most likely lead to more violence. People want to impeach him because they don't have a care for anyone anymore. I think it is up for debate on if President Trump will be re-elected. I can't tell if there is a strong enough democratic candidate to beat trump yet, but i also can't tell if there are still enough supporters to keep Trump in office.
ReplyDeleteThere needs to be a good reasoning behind impeaching a president, more than just not liking he or she. I believe that Trump still has his supporters, but you never know what will happen depending on what democratic candidate runs against him.

ReplyDeleteI don't think it's worth the time or money to impeach him when he will by voted out of office next year anyways. I truly believe almost any candidate can beat Donald Trump if they can get the backing of the majority of the Democratic party. I agree with Pelosi and her stance on this issue even though she does not like Trump.
ReplyDeleteI think the reason people would wish to impeach Pres. Trump are obvious; he is generally very unpopular with Democrats, and some Republicans even for his (im)morals and rotten track record, not to mention his flagrant and flamboyant personality and social media usage, which to some fits the quote in the blog above by Nancy Pelosi: " he is not fit to be President of the United States.” I also agree with her ideas about impeachment. Because there has been no single directly unconstitutional act by Pres. Trump, (though arguably his general conduct and track record are foundationally disagreeable) it only serve to divide the country even further into hyper-polarized factions of "Innocent!" and "Guilty!" when A) there would likely be no definitive answer for that and B) the vague nature of that issue makes it a million times more irrelevant than the endless actual issues plaguing our country and our government today. We should focus our energy on those forefront issues instead of wasting it on a lame, soon to be lame-duck President.
ReplyDeleteI do believe that not impeaching Trump is a good idea, considering that he has not committed any serious crimes that would qualify as treason. He would most likely be acquitted anyways. Although I believe that Trump could be beaten in the 2020 election, I also think he has a strong chance of being re-elected considering he is an incumbent.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that impeaching Trump is a good idea. There has been no crime committed that is worthy of impeachment. I agree with Nancy Pelosi. Impeaching Trump would cause a greater riff in the country. I think that a lot of the people are just unhappy with decisions that President Trump has made, but this is to be expected. This isn't grounds for impeachment. While I would like to see President Trump re-elected, I think that his chances are slim because his presidency has been very contradictory.
ReplyDeleteImpeachment is an action that’s meant to be taken against someone who’s actions can be seen as unconstitutional. While I do not agree with Trump on literally everything, I don’t believe he should be impeached. The amount of time and money that would go into it wouldn’t be worth it. Also, it’s not like Mike Pence is any better. I think people want to impeach Trump because they don’t see him fit for president which I understand. I don’t think he has a chance at re-election because he is quite a controversy. But that’s what I said during the 2016 election so we will have to see.
ReplyDeleteMy views on impeachment are how well does it actually work, just because some people may not agree or even like the president doesn't even like them, they just think they can resort to impeachment. I somewhat do you agree with Nancy Pelosi’s views on impeachment, finally I can somewhat like that hag. I think why so many people want to impeach Trump is because he is doing things that other people are not used to. I do you believe Trump has a good chance of getting re-elected.
