Suspicious Packages by Kalli B.



Wednesday two suspicious packages were “intercepted” by the Secret Service. These packages that were sent to former President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton were identified as “potential explosive devices.” First, the FBI was investigating the package sent to Bill and Hillary Clinton’s home in Chappaqua, New York. According to the Secret Service, the package that was addressed to Clinton was caught late Tuesday and the second package addressed to Obama was “intercepted by secret service personnel in Washington, DC” on Wednesday morning.  An explosive device was found in the mailbox of George Soros, causing a security scare. It is still unclear if any of these incidents are related. CNN employees have said that they were evacuated from their office in New York after a suspicious package was reportedly placed at the Time Warner Center. In a statement made by the Secret Service it said, “The packages were immediately identified during routine mail screening procedures as potential explosive devices and were appropriately handled as such. The protectees did not receive the packages nor were they at risk of receiving them.” A criminal investigation has been launched to determine the source of the packages.

    I think that the people doing this are stupid. I think people do this because they don't have anything better to do, except cause more trouble. I hope the people get caught, and they should since it is involved with two former presidents.

    I believe that people to do this to incite fear and to also draw attention to themselves. I hope they are caught and brought to justice. Because all of the targeted people have been important people in the democratic party, most people believe this attack is coming from a conservatively minded person. This is no way to prove a point.

    I think the person/s who have done this are very unintelligent. I believe the people who do things like this are very attention hungry and want people with power to fear them. I want this person to be caught since they threatened two former U.S. presidents and a former president elect, however I am not sure if they will due to other cases that take higher precedence over this one.

    People believe they should act out in ways such as this because they just want the attention. I hope the person who did it gets caught, and I have a feeling that they will because this is such a serious incident.

    This is a very serious matter in the US today. In today's society people feel as though they have to act out to get attention. This is not the right way to go about it.
